CRUZ ROJA VOLUNTARIOS (RED CROSS VOLUNTEERS): A group of English speaking volunteers who raise funds for the Cruz Roja Hospital and Ambulance Service by holding fundraisers and operating a thrift shop. DESARROLLO INTEGRAL DEL LA FAMILIA (DIF):
A Mexican social service agency headed by the current Mayor’s wife, provide help for the neediest members of the community, primarily abused women, children and seniors, by providing shelter, clothing, food and counseling. SISTERS OF MERCY – Their outreach caters to families who live on the hillsides of Rosarito, Baja California. The Sisters of Mercy, through the generous donations of many people, have been able to build homes for over 50 families. Sister Clare devotes her time teaching others to improve by offering English and computer classes as well as sponsoring sewing lessons, etc. Through contributions, they also send many children to school each year. Each Christmas a Posada is held, with over 2,500 people lining up as early as 6:00 a.m. to receive their gifts.
